Living in the US, crossed 50 and still catching up on retirement savings?
Information is significantly revealing that numerous Americans, even those in their 50s, have actually conserved little for their retirement. According to research study by the not-for-profit Economic Policy Institute, amongst homes headed by grownups ages 50 to 55, the average retirement cost savings is just $8,000, according to the Economic Policy Institute. RBI boosts credit and debit card security with new rules
Many of us have heard about Credit or Debit card frauds/misuse from our acquaintances in the recent past. Earlier, transactions would not require OTP verification while executing the transaction. It had left a big loophole open and was being misused by firms, who used to store credentials. Transactions would get executed well after the subscription period. I myself faced issues with Netflix subscriptions, which would automatically debit the amount from my card. This was specially risky, if are planning to stop the subscription on that day. Now, RBI has come us with a new set of rules for cards issued in India. For New Cards or Reissued Cards During issue…

How travelling changes you for the better?
I have travelled across India and can definitely say they have been one of the best experiences. Have travelled the farthest when I had the least money and was a student. Other states include Delhi, Punjab, UP, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Telangana. All of the visits have been memorable and linger on even after decades. Travelling is also good for the soul. Below are few of the many benefits of travelling, which I have experienced over the years. 1. Brings humility The first…

Culture eats process for breakfast!!
Every organization has a certain inbuilt culture, which is mainly driven by the promoter and managers. There is a high risk that the structure can be turned upside down due to external interferences also E.g. Political interference, trade unions etc. Organizations that thrive, understand the importance of having a right culture within. They understand that performance and merit should be the top most criteria for evaluating promotions and rewards. These organizations are aware and also know that performance can only be a byproduct of great processes. However, very few recognize that only a right culture will ensure right adherence. Else, wrong self serving processes can be easily set up with…

Jonny Kim and the power of focus!
Steve Jobs once said “Focus and simplicity….once you get there, you can move mountains.” This is so true for Jonny Kim, who achieved the rare distinction of being a Navy Seal, an accomplished doctor and now a NASA ‘Artemis’ astronaut program candidate. How did he achieve all of it as he himself had confessed that, “As a child, he was not aware what he wanted to become”. The biggest thing he lacked as child was ‘confidence’. This was natural as his parents had immigrated recently and he would have took time to adjust. His Navy Seal career provided him with lot of hard skills but higher education taught him how…

During this pandemic, Health Insurance has become nothing short of a boon to the general population. People are more aware and now understand that having a Health Insurance is absolutely necessary. How to identify your talent?
It is a big Myth that everyone has a unique or raw talent. One must have heard about the book ‘Talent is overrated‘ by ‘Geoff Colvin’. It indeed is overrated and one needs to take note. A better phrase would be that ‘everyone has natural abilities‘. ‘Abilities‘ are not talent but God given skills like ‘running‘ , ‘thinking‘ etc. ‘Interests‘ and ‘Passions‘ definitely exist. These then lead to enough practice automatically as you love them. It is that simple ! Enough practice then makes you skilled. Athletics is a very good example of observing the ‘hidden Talent myth’. Have you ever wondered why cricketers keep on practicing one shot for…

Why random curiosity is extremely important for Entrepreneurs and everyone ?
The traditional education system rarely encourages random curiosity. Teacher’s fear, what if the focus on subjects wither off. Rote learning was encouraged in many schools earlier. Now the teaching methodologies are changing for the better. Just imagine the possibilities, if children start asking good questions, teacher’s have to come better prepared and quality of education will improve drastically. Below is a short process of scoping, scooping and sharing which can do wonders to your grasping abilities. Scope: Scoping a new learning will help establish an excellent base.
